It has to be difficult working on wounded people whom one cares about and under dangerous conditions. The skill and courage shown by the medics has rarely received the same credit shown to the soldiers firing the weapons. Most of us weren' t there so we can' t fully feel what it was like.
we have to use our imaginations and then say, "Thank you. I might not have been born if you weren' t there to help my father or grandfather."
To Eugene Roe and the other brave medics, you were the best.

Thanks to Susan Finn for finding this in the archives.

When did Mr. Roe pass away?

The heading at the top(Times-Picayune...) has an article about Roe which mentions that he died in 1998.

I have now seen the Band of Brothers mini-series, and have to do a paper about one of my heros for U.S. history. I would like to do Eugene, but I need several written sorces, and the only thing that I can find in print is the Band of Brothers book by Stephen Ambrose. I would really love to do Eugene for my paper, so any helping hints would be very much appreciated.
Thank You very much for your time.

Actually, I was looking for some background info. Something telling about his family and how he grew up. I have found plenty on his bravery and heroics, but there doesn't seem to be much content concerning his childhood.
