For most of the world, the name Eugene Roe wouldn't do much. For us, however, the family of Eugene Roe, the name evokes deep memories of a great man. Although we certainly knew his World War II past, we were lucky enough to know him not only as an Easy Company Medic, but as a Father and Grandfather.

What we did learn on our trip to the premiere was that he was an "angel" to the men he helped. We met veterans who had been bandaged as many as three times by Medic Roe.

Episode Six of the HBO Mini-Series is aptly named "Angels From Above." It chronicles the problems he faced bandaging men he had grown to love in Easy Company, his Brothers.

We agree with the "Angels From Above" title, but with a slightly different view of Eugene Roe. Enjoy our collection of pictures and memories of him.
