Medic Roe Is My World War II Hero, and I just watched the Band Of Brothers, And I LOVED Medic Roe, he was a really neat person, and all I have learned about him, made me want to Join The Army and Become a field medic even more, I am A 13 year old Girl, and everyone I know thinks I am totaly insane for wanting to Join the army, But I have my mind set, I AM enlisting in the army, and Medic Roe is My Hero and my Role Modle, ever since I heard about him, it has given me courage to really commit to joing the army.
And with this post I am Saluting His Memory!

Part Six of the miniseries was the most deeply moving part for me. Shane Taylor did a magnificent job as Doc Roe.

God bless the memory of Eugene Roe. This country needs more caring, dedicated people like him.

Yours,
Paul

I watched "Band Of Brothers" last year on BBC and was blown away by the scale of the programme and the quality of the production. I know this isn't a site dedicated to the series, but it is through it that I am able to relate in some way to the men of Easy company, if not all of the brave British, Canadian or Americans who gave up their innocence not least their lives.
The episode featuring your father touched me deeply. His isolation within the Company as a non-combatant, a life saver and a life line to those around him was evident. He was expected to work miracles with simple implements, medicine and limited training. Yet the affection in which he was held is a testament to his unique place in the Company. It was men such as Doc Roe who were the unsung, though not unrecognised, heroes of the War and their contribution was just as important as any Ranger, Paratrooper or Infantryman. I was lucky enough to visit the US War Cemetry in Normandy two summers ago and I felt priveleged to walk amongst the graves of the last great generation of heroes.

Really, Band of Brothers is the most greatest Movie of WW|| i have ever seen. Sometimes when I'm watching it, i really think like; Shit! This is all, really happened?! I really have the most greatest Respect for the Medic, Eugene Roe. He was so strong that he did everything the men from Easy Compangie 506 expected from a medic. He didn't just collapse, when he had to help a man who has been WIA. I swear i would, if i had to help some-one who's leg got shot off by an handgranate or something. Eugene Roe was allways there to help his buddys.
I want to be a medic too. Eugene really inspired me. I want to help the people in the world, i want to save them from bad people, like Hitler! Sometimes i wish i could be there, in 1940 an kick some German asses, this kind of war can absolutely never happen for a second time. If it will, i'll be there. Like Eugene was there in the WW||.

If you save a soldiers life,
That soldier can save 10 other lifes.

i watched the band of brothers series on tv and wanted to learn more about Eugene Roe. When i sought more information about him and his life, evrything i found out about him confirmed my beleif that it is people like Eugene Roe that make us realise that there is still a great deal of hope and goodness in the world and mankind.
I was so happy to learn that there is a site dedicated to ensuring that the memory of a great man will not be forgotten

Band of Brothers changed my life, and it did in a good way.
I can write 10 pages with my feelings and thoughts about Easy company, it's in my head all day. I love to see all these posts of other people who got touched by BoB as well as i got.
Leonie and kimmi great you got so stimulated by medic Eugene Roe, he was a great man however i never met him i know he was. I cant chose a favourite episode cause they were all great. Sometimes i also hope i was there just like Leonie, but that can't be realised. I've always wanted to join the army (and not just for shooting , like my dad always says) and after seeing Band of Brothers even more.
With the most respect for those men,
Currahee!
Joost

I am a medical student in China. I just watched BOB. I was so moved by the stories. Medic Roe is really a hero. He made me realize what a doctor should do--do my best to help patients get through the pain.

I am 16 years old and ever since I can remember I have wanted to join the Canadian military. Ever since I watched Band of Brothers last year I have wanted to be a paratrooper but when I watched the movie again for about the 21st time and noticed Medic Roe I changed my mind. When I turn 20 I am enlisting in the Canadian air force and becoming a medic mostly to keep my miliatry heratige going but Mr. Roe inspired me to become a medic. So this is for his family I want to thank you for you father and grandfather for inspiring me.

Hi, Im Coen and i'm from Holland.

And i wanted to tell you: That mr. Cpl. Eugene(Doc.) Roe is a role model, but most of all a great hero!

He was one of the best characters in Band of Brothers! and if men like Mr. Roe weren't there in WW II, Then we were all talking German by now.

Thank you very much!
