I was lucky enough to be on a British base when the actors were going through the boot camp period of training and watched them being drilled every morning. It was strange to see squads of GI's and Germans hanging around talking to each other and the authentic vehicles driving around camp! I used to eat my breakfast with some of the advisors who explained what they were doing and couldn't wait to see the series as a result. Took me quite a while to get around to it due to various deployments but well worth the wait. They also filmed some of the Bastogne scenes there as well and we'd wander over to watch the guys shiver. And watching Sobel/Schwimmer being beasted about was more fun than you could imagine! And how do you register as a user here?
