Are any of the board members making the trip to Normandy in June this year for the Anniversary? I'm a Brit and I know it's a long way for the majority of the posters here but it would be nice to know. I'm over between the 3rd and 10th and would not miss the chance to pay my respects to all those involved for the world.

Hi Mr G:

I’m going to be in Caen, Normandy for a fortnight from the 29th May, I’m staying in a quiet but beautiful little French cottage.

I have 4 full days of arranged tours booked through 'Battlebus' for the 30th to the 2nd (check out there website at www.battlebus.fr if your interested) that include the British, Canadian, Utah and Omaha sections.

For the remainder of my stay I shall hire a car and tour around all the other sites not included in my arranged tours, and probably re-visit some that are. Naturally I shall be paying my respects and attend any ceremonies that I can, as well as meeting as many Veterans as possible and chatting over a Pint or a bottle of VAT69.

These websites have lots of helpful information, but most useful is the full program of events: all of the different events in various locations throughout Normandy during the Anniversary and don’t miss the Historical Sightseeing Map both are at normandiememoire (link below)

Let me know of any interesting or unusual plans you have, I hope to see you over there.

Kind Regards
