Does anyone know if HBO will being doing another series like BoB and if so what would you like the series to be about. I would like to see them do a series on a Civil War regiment the only problem is that every time I see a CW movie it's about the officers and generals and not the enlisted men.

I remember hearing from a friend back in December that HBO may be making another documentary on Easy company in Korea. I am not positive on this so do not hold it against me if I am wrong.

Hi:
That would be very good.
What would also be good, off the top of my head is a sort of special on the life of the vets both before and after their war experiences. I know it'd be hard what with there not being so many alive now, but wouldn't it be great and it would answer most of our questions.
Using all the same cast and with some clips of the vets again at the begining like Band of Brothers. I usually hate sequels persay but with the same crew and film makers as Band of Brothers and with their same sense of passion and responsibility to do it right etc, it could be pulled off.
what do you all reckon?
kind Regards

I just bought the special edition (6 discs) of BOB and i watched episode 1 to 6 until know and the extra's. And i hope there will be a sequel. I trust Tom Hanks and Steven Spielburg and i recon they can make a sequel with the same standard as the first one.
I personnally hope, they will make a WW2 serie first, cauz time is ticking and now we still have first hand information. I a few years there wont be no first hand information no more. And personnally i think that will be the day to start good Vietnam movies/series just like BOB.
But i am looking forward to another serie like Band Of Brothers. I have never seen a movie that touched me as much as this. All the emotions i feel and i get them only by looking at them.
Those guys are my hero's and i am thankfull for everyday, these people gave me. I am from Holland and i loved the part at Nijmegen. All those orange flaggs. In my mind i can see my aunts en grandma walking along the people. Also my uncle who was a labour man (forced) at (I believe) Munich Germany. The stories i heard about that, they came to live a bit, by watching this movie.
Sorry for the long post, but even though i was born in 1982, i still feel 'liberated', dont know how to explain it. Unfortunatly a lot of people, my age, are forgetting the past and WW2.

Well heres the first thing i came across,
"After the worldwide success of 'Band of Brothers', Steven Spielberg is set to produce another TV drama about World War II.
The Hollywood Reporter says Spielberg and partners Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman are developing a 10-part series set during the battles in the Pacific Theatre.
A deal is being finalised with US cable channel HBO with the project expected to require a budget of over $100m.
It is expected that, like 'Band of Brothers', the series will follow a group of soldiers during the Pacific campaign."
And here is the second peice I found,
"By Chris Gardner
LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Steven Spielberg (news), Tom Hanks (news) and Gary Goetzman -- the Emmy-winning creative team behind "Band of Brothers" -- are mounting a new 10-part World War II mini-series centered on battles in the Pacific theater.
DreamWorks confirmed that the project, being referred to as the "Untitled World War II Pacific Theater Project," is in the early stages of development, with a deal being finalized for HBO to serve as a partner in the mini-series.
The production is expected to require a "Brothers"-type budget of more than $100 million.
Screenwriter Bruce McKenna, who penned several installments of the first miniseries and picked up a Writers Guild of America Award for his work, already has held numerous creative meetings with Spielberg and Goetzman and is expected to become the head writer.
There is no deal for McKenna, and negotiations haven't started for the scribe to board the project, but sources said the principals are discussing scheduling and how much it would cost to hire McKenna for what would be a long-term assignment.
Currently a hot writer on the film front, McKenna is adapting Marvel Comics' "Hands of Shang Chi" for DreamWorks and recently closed a deal to adapt the upcoming nonfiction book "The Perfect Mile" for Universal Pictures, Spyglass Entertainment and Kennedy/Marshall.
The "Pacific Theater Project" is not based on any existing source material but is expected to follow a company of soldiers through the island campaign, just as "Brothers" viewed the European campaign from D-Day forward through the eyes of Easy Company of the U.S. Army's 101st Airborne Division.
The multiepisode "Brothers," based on the book by historian Stephen E. Ambrose, proved to be an awards circuit favorite after it aired on HBO in 2001. It was nominated for 19 Emmys and earned six, including a trophy for outstanding miniseries.

Hope that helps!

Do you want to know about he nw WWII HBO Show ?
Look no further ;-)
On my website I have a complete Menu on 'The Pacific'.
The story, the Cast, the facts and some first set-pictures. (We are talking 700+ cast in USMC gear invading the Pacific Islands in the footsteps of K-Co 3rd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division.
I hope this new HBO series will honor the Marines like BoB did for the US Paratroops...
