DETAILS: The debut of BAND OF BROTHERS, the ten-part miniseries based on

Stephen E. Ambrose's nonfiction best seller about a World War

II U.S. Army unit, is set for Sunday, September 9 at 9:00 p.m.

(ET), and will run for ten weeks. The book "Band of Brothers"

tells the story of Easy Company, 506th Regiment of the 101st

Airborne Division, U.S. Army. Starting with their rigorous

training in Georgia in 1942, it recounts the achievements of the

elite rifle company, which parachuted into France early on D-Day

morning, fought in the Battle of the Bulge, and captured

Hitler's Eagle's Nest at Berchtesgaden. Drawn from hours of

interviews with survivors, as well as soldiers' journals and

letters, "Band of Brothers" chronicles a unit that took 150

percent casualties and became true American heroes.

Produced by Band Of Brothers Ltd. on behalf of The Playtone

Company and DreamWorks SKG, with Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks

(executive producer of the Emmy (R)-winning HBO miniseries

"From the Earth to the Moon") serving as executive producers.
