Hanks and Son Rooting for HBO Show
PASADENA, Calif. (AP) - Tom Hanks and his son, Colin, each have rooting interests in HBO's upcoming 10-part miniseries ``Band of Brothers.''
The elder Hanks is executive producer of the story, which recounts an Army regiment's journey through World War II. His son appears in the eighth installment of the miniseries, which debuts Sept. 9.
Hanks, who wasn't on the set when Colin was filming, said he offered his son no advice.
``My son has good chops and I knew it when I saw him in the junior high school play he appeared in,'' said Hanks.
Colin Hanks made his television acting debut in The WB series ``Roswell.'' He is the product of Hanks' first marriage to Samantha Lewes.
