Michael Kamen is writing the score. He does have some basic information on his site. Look under current projects.

I have the CD. My wife loves to close her eyes and relax when we are driving and listen to the CD! I run everyday and I listen to it a lot when I am running on my portable CD player and earphones. I pretend I am trying to run up Currahee!!!!!!!

You can play the main theme on the piano. Its pretty easy (by that I mean easier than other scores!!!) to play it by ear if you're listening to certain scenes where only the piano is playing in the background really slowly.

Wow, you like read my mind, Janine. I was planning on trying to play it on the piano...might not sound the same but I would love to know it! :) Have you been playing the piano long? Been playing for over 6 years...or so I dunno, its been too long lol.

I started playing when I was 7 but I don't play that much anymore. I wish kept up with it though. Anyway, I haven't written down the notes but when I do you'll be the first to know it...right hand only as I'm not much of a composer! lol

Okay, this is just the basic structure of the main theme:

A#-1 C# F# G# A# A# C#1 F# G# A# A#
A#-1 C# F# G# A# B A# D#1 C#1 G# A# A#
A# B C#1 C#1 B A# G# F# C# F# C# F# A# G# A# B C#1 F# F D#1 G# F# F1 A# G# F#1
C# F# A# G# F# F# C# G# C# F# C# A# F#

(Or if you want an more dramatic ending then replace the last note with: A#-2F#-1C#F#...played as a broken chord)

NB: As with cell phones the nubers represents the octaves. Middle C= C etc.

Once you start playing it you can easily work out the appropriate tempo aswell as where the rests should go.
With regards to the left hand, you can just improvise so you can change it around depending on what mood you're trying to portray. But the music is such that it sounds good played with just the right. Well hope I've helped a litte! :)

Hey thanks Janine! :) I will try it out soon. I wonder if they will actually come out with the music notes in a book...that would be excellent! Was trying to buy the soundtrack today but couldn't find it...was very upset!! Ach well, will hopefully get it in a city next week.

Thanks again!
Evelyn

Thanks Janine for the notes.

The Main Theme chords are as follows...

F-C-F (rest) F-C-F (rest) F-C-Bb-F (rest) F-C-F

(rest)*F-Bb-F-F7-Bb, F-C-F-Bb- *F-Bb-C-Dm...(rest)

F-C-F.

*My favorite parts. These were the Main theme's strong point ( I hope others will agree also)LOL=)

I love the score, it's very beautiful, relaxing and flowing.

I can play Winters on Subway, which is a bit of a transposed verison of the Main theme. And I'm trying to figure out the rest of the music, but it's a bit hard ;).
If anyone knows anything about a music book published, I would love to know.

Composer Michael Kamen Dies

Edited By Jonathan Cohen. November 18, 2003, 4:45 PM ET

Oscar-nominated composer, conductor and arranger Michael Kamen died this morning (Nov. 18) after suffering from multiple sclerosis for several years, his agent said. He was 55. Further details were not immediately available.

One of Hollywood's most successful composers, Kamen worked on music for the "Lethal Weapon" series and scored "Die Hard," among many other films. He was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1996, but did not go public about the disease until late September.

Kamen grew up in Queens, the son of liberal activists. In the late 1960s, he helped found the New York Rock'n'Roll Ensemble. In the 1970s, he scored ballets, served as musical director for David Bowie's Diamond Dogs tour and began writing scores for film.

Although he began in Hollywood working on offbeat films like "Polyester" and "Brazil," he turned more mainstream in the 1980s, working on the "Lethal Weapon" series, "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves," "Mr. Holland's Opus" and "X-Men," plus the HBO series "Band of Brothers."

In 1999, Kamen conducted the San Francisco Orchestra as it backed hard rock act Metallica on its live "S&M" project. Recorded across two concerts that reworked the band's canon for symphonic arrangement, the resulting album peaked at No. 2 and has sold 2.6 million copies in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan.
