Just around Veteran's Day, right after the miniseries ended, I wrote many of the surviving veterans of Easy Company and have received some incredibly generous, heartwarming replies from 10-12 of them. Here's what Sal Bellino said in his letter of 11/20/01 ... (he enclosed a picture & Airbourne arm patch)

Thank you for the beautiful letter, was wonderful, my wife said it was special and yes it was. Was in 1942-1945 D-Day and all through the war a time of sorrow for all the brothers we lost. The brothers that are still here so proud to be part of the best of the best the greatest men to be with "CURRAHEE" and still today.
